Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage and optimize the overall performance of the financial department by providing specialized, focused leadership and ensure maximum compliance to company best practice and legislative requirements.



  • Manage the team of Regional Admin Managers (field audit managers) to maximize their KPA outputs and improve operational administration and stock management.
  • Manage the country finance team to maximize the department’s outputs
  • Structure and clarify roles, responsibilities and standards of performance for team members
  • Optimize financial processes, systems and methodologies in accordance with best practices, centralized policies from Cape Town and cost-effectiveness requirements
  • Play a key role in the development of Nigeria’s growth strategy to ensure profitability - including gross profit margins, exchange rates, etc.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures
  • Make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions
  • Ensure alignment with the company’s centralized processes, procedures and systems
  • Compute annual budgets for approval
  • Drive and monitor compliance to standards, policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of changes and ensure compliance to Nigeria’s financial regulations and legislation, especially regarding foreign exchange policies; repatriation of funds and relevant tax systems and tax or investment benefits or opportunities.
  • Manage an effective in-country treasury function aligned with central standards and procedures.


  • Grade 12 / Secondary school
  • Tertiary qualification would be an advantage
  • PC literacy – MS Word, Excel
  • 8 years’ experience in financial management, 5 years in a managerial role
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the country.
  • English: Speaking, Reading and Writing (compulsory)
  • Nigerian Citizen
  • Willingness to travel extensively within and outside Malawi
  • Essential Skills: Strong managerial skills; Leadership; Communication; Interpersonal; Problem solving; Decision making; Build and maintain healthy business relationships; Contracting; Project management; Coaching; Resourcefulness .
