Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage and optimize the overall performance of the financial department by providing specialized, focused leadership and ensure maximum compliance to company best practice and legislative requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage the team of Regional Admin Managers (field audit managers) to maximize their KPA outputs and improve operational administration and stock management.
  • Manage the country finance team to maximize the department’s outputs
  • Structure and clarify roles, responsibilities and standards of performance for team members
  • Optimize financial processes, systems and methodologies in accordance with best practices, centralized policies from Cape Town and cost-effectiveness requirements
  • Play a key role in the development of Nigeria’s growth strategy to ensure profitability - including gross profit margins, exchange rates, etc.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures
  • Make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions
  • Ensure alignment with the company’s centralized processes, procedures and systems
  • Compute annual budgets for approval
  • Drive and monitor compliance to standards, policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of changes and ensure compliance to Nigeria’s financial regulations and legislation, especially regarding foreign exchange policies; repatriation of funds and relevant tax systems and tax or investment benefits or opportunities.
  • Manage an effective in-country treasury function aligned with central standards and procedures.

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 / Secondary school
  • Tertiary qualification would be an advantage
  • PC literacy – MS Word, Excel
  • 8 years’ experience in financial management, 5 years in a managerial role
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the country.
  • English: Speaking, Reading and Writing (compulsory)
  • Nigerian Citizen
  • Willingness to travel extensively within and outside Malawi

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for performing various activities relating to Information Security and IT Risk Management to support the IT Risk, Security and Audit Function. These activities may include ensuring:

  • Security related legal and regulatory requirements are embedded in the management of IT and IT operations.
  • Risk and Security Awareness within Pepkor IT and the Pepkor group.
  • Risk and Security industry threat analysis and alerting into Pepkor IT.
  • Approved Risk & security policies and related standards and controls are maintained and implemented across environments.
  • Information security, security awareness & compliance maturity is improved.
  • Building IT risk management and an information & cybersecurity capability across Pepkor IT environments.
  • Provide on-going security, risk, awareness, audit and compliance support within Pepkor IT.
  • Coordinate operational input and produce reports to support the IT Risk & Security Function for the Executive Board’s attention.
  • Coordinate Compliance activities e.g. PCI and Popi.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • CISSP certification or cybersecurity certification would count in your favour.
  • Experience in security architecture would be beneficial.
  • +- 1-3 Years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT risk, audit and compliance.
  • Exposure to Risk and security principles/ guidelines/ implementations.
  • Understanding of Risk and security threats.
  • Understand of PCI, Popi and other compliance.
