Job Description

The successful candidate will lead the group raw material procurement for apparel fabrics, with a global mandate.
He/she will work on a project basis, leading the apparel textile mapping and sourcing process of knitted and woven greige, dyed and printed fabrics, which we nominate to the clothing cut and sew manufacturers.

Assignments:
  • liaise directly with the retailer and quality responsible in the retail brand and develop technical specification for a raw materials

  • collect usage mapping from retailer and sourcing team and also map raw material producers globally of the given material once the technical specification is agreed

  • involve visiting the raw material producers, interviewing them and collect facts

  • Lead the tender process for the apparel fabrics

  • Manage the quality management processes at the raw material suppliers

  • Liaise with sourcing office and retailer to implement the winning raw material tender

  • Ongoing relationship management of raw material supply partners

Knowledge and Skills:
  • a background and skills in textile engineering, both for woven and knitted

  • Experience in global sourcing of apparel fabrics

  • a good understanding of the manufacturing processes for apparel goods

  • Good command of English, both speaking and writing

The Product Manager will form an integral part of the Purchasing function in the achievement of Retail Buyer’s objectives. With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the Product Manager will take a proactive approach in reviewing current processes and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes. The role is a key to leading the company forward in securing quality suppliers of products covering price delivery and quality targets.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and identify customer’s request for products and suppliers

  • Identify existing and source new suppliers

  • Identify and develop products

  • Price and conditions negotiation

  • Order management, i.e. tracking delivery on time, order information is accurate in accordance with agreed quotation

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or above

  • At least 2 years’ experience on similar positions in an international purchasing/trading company on related products

  • Professional experience and knowledge in sourcing of required product category, familiar with European market

  • Sound understanding of technical know-how of required product category

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, project management and problem solving capability, develop business and deliver results, able to lead and develop people
